Davis Cup

Marat played doubles with Dmitry Tursunov representing Russia, against Romania (Horia Tecau and Marius Copil) on the first round at Sibiu, Romania. Russian Davis Cup captain Shamil Tarpischev decided to let Marat play singles as well, effectively winning over Victor Crivoi. Tarpischev replaced him with Tursunov later on.

Alongside partner Igor Kunitsyn, Marat lost to Israel's Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram in the doubles quarter-finals at Tel Aviv, Israel, effectively ending Russia's chance of winning this year's Davis Cup.
